Confirmed information

What we actually know

Everything on this page is attributed to official Rockstar Games material or to hands-on preview coverage published by a named outlet. Each line carries its source and date.

The standard

  • Official Rockstar announcements, and hands-on previews published after Rockstar's August 2026 press event and the Netflix “Extended Look” presentation.
  • No leaks, no datamines, no speculation, and no fan-made or AI-generated imagery. If a claim has no citable source, it is not on this page.
  • No in-game prices. Rockstar has published what the game costs, but not what anything in it costs — the price database remains placeholder data until verified figures exist.

Release

Price

  • Grand Theft Auto VI costs $79.99. The Ultimate Edition, which adds premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and action threaded through the story, costs $99.99.

  • Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026. Pre-orders and purchases before 20 November 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital pre-orders add a free month of GTA+.

  • The Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus includes the two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier and the Shore Court personal garage near Ocean Beach, plus outfits, hairstyles and a weapon pattern.

Ultimate Edition

  • The Ultimate Edition includes the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, the Shitzu Squalo boat, an Army fatigue–tinged Dinka Enduro and a Crest Kayak, and a Ganado Retro Build modkit for Jason's Vapid Ganado.

  • Five shops are only open for business with the Ultimate Edition: Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's (mod shops), Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305 (streetwear) and Electric Fang Tattoo.

  • An Ultimate Edition special commission from collector and fixer Wyman involves tracking down abandoned classic and project cars and restoring them.

Economy

  • The Paradise Garage and Shore Court garage each include a weapon locker and a secure place to deposit stolen goods to be fenced.

  • Money matters more to the campaign than in previous Grand Theft Auto games. Some main-story progress requires raising a specific amount of cash first.

  • Money can be earned by stealing and selling vehicles, robbing businesses, holding up stores, and completing bank heists.

  • Stolen vehicles and goods are sold through fences. Fences can also hand over access codes to impound lots.

Vehicles

  • A phone app called WAINK scans a vehicle before you attempt to take it, reporting its estimated value, personal registration cost, lock status, alarm and tracking technology.

  • Stolen cars lose value when they are delivered to a fence with visible damage.

  • Vehicles are separated into security tiers, with expensive models considerably harder to steal.

Why this page is short

Rockstar has shown a great deal of Grand Theft Auto VI and confirmed very little of its economy in numbers. This page only grows when something is stated on the record, so it is deliberately shorter than what circulates elsewhere.

When verified prices do arrive, they will be attached to individual database records with their own source and verification status rather than summarised here.
