About
The financial layer for GTA VI
GTAEconomy answers money questions: what something costs, whether it's worth it, what you can afford, and what to buy instead.
What this is
A price and value database — not a wiki, a news site or a guide. It covers vehicles, properties, businesses, weapons, shops, and the data model is ready for clothing, aircraft, upgrades, services, collectibles.
Accuracy comes before coverage. A short list of confirmed assets with honest unknowns is more useful than a long list of guesses — so if GTAEconomy says a number is verified, you can trust it.
Verification
Every record, and every individual figure, carries its own status. Nothing is treated as verified because it exists in the database.
An asset's status describes whether the asset itself is real: the ’95 Grotti Cheetah is officially confirmed by Rockstar, while its purchase price, resale value and fence value are all still unknown. Confirming a car never confirms its prices.
- Confirmed
- Officially confirmed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two, or verified in-game with evidence.
- Observed
- Seen in credible gameplay or media, but not yet fully verified.
- Unverified
- Reported, but not independently confirmed. Treat as provisional.
- Unknown
- The asset is known, but its economic information isn't available yet.
A record shows its source, the date it was verified and when it was last updated. A price marked confirmed needs either an official source or in-game screenshot evidence; evidence is kept for audit and never published, because gameplay screenshots are Rockstar's imagery.
Sources are also labelled by type — official (Rockstar or Take-Two), preview coverage, in-game, or community — so you can weigh a figure without leaving the page.
Unknown is not zero
A figure that isn't known is stored as unknown and shown as “Not yet known” or “TBD”. Zero means free, or none. Price sorting lists unknown prices last instead of treating them as $0, and no calculation runs on a missing figure.
Price history
Prices change through game updates, so every change is recorded as a dated event:
- Initial pricesets the price
- Price changesets the price
- Saletemporary
- Promotiontemporary
- GTA+ pricetemporary
- Othertemporary
Value metrics
Calculated only when every input is known:
- Resale percentage
- resale value ÷ purchase price
- Total investment
- purchase price + required upgrades
- Break-even time
- total investment ÷ income per hour
- Cost per performance point
- purchase price ÷ performance score
Value rankings
Each category has its own weighted model, using only confirmed or observed prices. Rankings appear once enough records qualify. The current weights:
