Boosting

What’s worth stealing?

Stealing cars and selling them to fences is one of the ways to make money in GTA VI. This page tracks what each car pays and how hard it is to take.

Boosting data starts at launch

No car values have been published yet. From Nov 19, 2026 we’ll scan cars with WAINK and record fence sales. Rankings switch on once there are confirmed payouts to rank. Until then, nothing here is estimated.

How boosting works — what’s confirmed

  • A phone app called WAINK scans a vehicle before you attempt to take it, reporting its estimated value, personal registration cost, lock status, alarm and tracking technology.

  • Stolen vehicles and goods are sold through fences. Fences can also hand over access codes to impound lots.

    Vice, Aug 27, 2026 · TechSpot, Aug 27, 2026

  • Stolen cars lose value when they are delivered to a fence with visible damage.

    Vice, Aug 27, 2026

  • Vehicles are separated into security tiers, with expensive models considerably harder to steal.

    Vice, Aug 27, 2026

  • Money can be earned by stealing and selling vehicles, robbing businesses, holding up stores, and completing bank heists.

    Vice, Aug 27, 2026

  • The Paradise Garage and Shore Court garage each include a weapon locker and a secure place to deposit stolen goods to be fenced.

Everything we know

What we’ll track for every car

Fence payout
What a fence pays for the car undamaged.
WAINK value
The estimate the WAINK app shows when you scan it.
Registration cost
What it costs to keep the car as your own.
Security tier
How hard it is to take. Expensive cars sit higher.
Alarm & tracker
Whether the car will draw attention or be followed.
Lock status
Whether it’s locked, as WAINK reports it.

Every figure carries its own status — Confirmed, Observed or Unverified — and the date it was seen. Damage lowers what a fence pays, so payouts here are for undamaged cars.
